The use of concrete has a bad reputation, which it arguably deserves. It is one of the most polluting products in the world and contributes to 8% of global CO2 emissions. That’s why we are very happy to see that there are more and more innovative solutions to tackle this gigantic problem. Companies are using the scraps of old landfills to give this concrete a new life. This use of recycled concrete has the ability to reduce up to 80% of CO2 emissions.
Thanks to Rutte Groep, Respyre is also able to use this recycled concrete product. Rutte has been our trusty supplier to create our beautiful moss products. This collaboration has helped us to grow as a company and we are very thankful for the way we have worked together the past years.

Rutte Groep is a precursor in the domain of sustainable use of concrete. Together with organisations such as Urban Mine and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), they are planning on supplying 100% recycled concrete products. This will lead to the reuse of 5 million tons of concrete by 2026.
In addition to this beautiful work, they have now found a way to incorporate liquid CO2 into their mortar. With this process they can even create CO2-negative concrete!
We believe that innovations like this will create a better future for our beloved Earth! Check out their website to learn more!
Thank you Rutte!
